I've finished!... the outside...almost.

Started work on the floor. Thats recycled foam glass for the insluation layer, not coal, if you were wondering.

Roof light windows, planed, lead flashing, watertight

 

 

 

Shingles, tapers cut and nailed

                            

Cut a hole in the roof, installed flue.

Rafters

 Im working on the rafters at the moment, I just ordered 680 meters of batten and 4600 Cedar shingles,that should keep be busy for a while!

Straw!

It’s been a challenge from the start to get the design finished. The last couple of weeks my sidekick (Robin) and I, along with Alan (the professional builder), have been completing the important details of the design. Such as, the poach construction, window placement, Rafter details, ground floor plan and the mezzanine details. So, I’ve been doing a bit of model making and boring computer work.  In the mean time we’ve finished the timber frame and started putting bales in, using a bale needle and twine to adjust bale sizes and a hedge trimmer for shaping.
